The WCC (Writing and Communication Center) is open for in-person and remote consultations and coaching during 2026-27. It is staffed entirely by communication experts. The WCC offers consultations and coaching on related to communication projects to MIT undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral and visiting scholars, as well as faculty and staff. We offer individual consultations about any writing difficulty, from questions about matters of genres, structure, tone, and style, including difficulties common to writers, such as overcoming writer's block, organizing papers, revising one's work, or presenting scientific and technical information. You may visit the Center during any stage of the writing process: prewriting, writing a first draft, revising, or editing. The Center works with (but is not limited to) the following: papers for courses, theses, articles and books for publication, grant proposals, teaching and research statements, application essays, CVs, and resumes. The Center also provides specialized help to those for whom English is a second language. Our goal is to help you critically analyze your work and grow as a writer or presenter of your work.
